Wood pellets from Beikircher Grünland are made from natural wood shavings and sawdust. The raw material is compressed under high pressure into pellets using a special manufacturing process. These can then be burned in automatic pellet-fuelled central heating units as well as pellet stoves.
Our pellets at a glance:
|Wood species||Pure coniferous wood|
|Length||max. 30 mm|
|Bulk density||approx. 650kg / m3|
|Energy content||min. 4.200 kcal/ kg = min. 4,9 kWh/ kg|
|Residual humidity||max. 10%|
|Ash content||0,2 – 0,5%|
The advantages of heating with wood pellets
Pellets are made from a renewable resource - wood. They are thus a good alternative to expensive oil and gas imports, as their production is unaffected by energy crises on the global market.
2 kg of wood pellets provide a similar calorific value to 1 litre of heating oil. The higher acquisition cost of the pellet heating unit is rapidly paid off by state energy conservation subsidies (in areas where no district heating system is available) and by the lower cost of pellets when compared to other fuels.
Pellets are delivered free to your house by tanker (in the same way as heating oil or LPG) and blown directly into your storage space. With their 30 m long hoses and powerful fans, our trucks can reach even difficult-to-access storage spaces (the hose length can even be extended to 50 m if indicated in the order). We also use a suction unit to remove blown air and dust from the storage space. This ensures that there is no contamination outside of the storage space – assuming of course that your storage space is air-tight.
The convenience of pellet heating units is in every way equivalent to that of conventional heating systems. The pellets are manufactured industrially. This guarantees consistent quality (in terms of humidity content, diameter, calorific value, etc.) and thus ensures trouble-free heating unit operation as well as constantly high energy generation during combustion.
In contrast to other fuels, the combustion of wood is CO2-neutral. This means that burning wood releases the same amount of CO2 into the atmosphere as was stored in the wood while it was growing.
Our wood pellets contain no chemical or synthetic additives which can be released during combustion. Beikircher Grünland wood pellets can also be produced locally. This is a further aspect of the issue of environmental impact – not only do pellets increase local added value, but they also generate sustainable employment nationally.
Beikircher wood pellets are manufactured and certified to ÖNORM M 7135 and/or DIN plus standard. These norm certifications set precise requirements in terms of pellet size, specific weight, calorific value and residual humidity, and provide customers with the peace of mind that their heating systems will work well with these pellets.
Pellets for wood chip heating systems
Most wood chip heating systems can also be operated using pellets without problems. Wood pellets are characterised by their much lower storage space requirements (approx. one-fifth of the volume of wood chips). In this way, it is possible to stock up on your entire pellet needs in summer, when prices are low. Their lower residual humidity and standardised size, and thus even combustion, also make wood pellets an interesting alternative to wood chips.
About our deliveries
We deliver our pellets using our modern fleet of tankers. All of our pellets trucks are fitted with calibrated weighing systems.
IMPORTANT: The heating unit must be switched off while refilling the storage space!
Wood pellets – also available in sacks
For smaller requirements, we also offer pellets in practical 15 kg nylon sacks. You can thus enjoy the benefits of pellet-firing without having to buy large quantities at once. Sacks are available from us on an ongoing basis. For minimum orders of one pallet, we will be happy to deliver sacks using a truck-mounted crane.
A pallet is equivalent to: 66 sacks @ 15 kg = 990 kg
